Uchinaaguchi, or known as Central Okinawan Language, is a Ryukyuan language spoken in Okinawa Prefecture, in Japan. According to UNESCO, it is now a definitely endangered language. This article will be focusing on the major reasons on the language shift occurred in Okinawa, in hope of raising the awareness of the public to the language and the problem of language loss.
